Just a quick post to share a scrapbook page. This is a scrapbook kit that I bought at last year's Great American Scrapbook Convention, and am just now using it. It is from Lickety Split Scrapbooks and was a lot of fun to put together. The kit came with everything you need, the paper, tabs, ribbon, and the paper peices for each of the three monsters. The only thing I did different from the instructions, is outline the title using a silver gel pen. I felt that they needed something to help them "pop" off the page a bit. Sorry you can't see that little detail very well in the picture, I took the picture with my iphone and didn't do a very good job.
I like that I was able to use some random, left over pictures from this year to highlight some fun "monster moments" of my son, Dallas. You know, like him putting his pants on backwards or chasing his brother and sister around the back yard with the water hose, LOL, never a dull moment.

Heather is my second cousin, the daughter of my oldest girl cousin, Jennifer. They asked me to take a few pictures of her to celebrate her 16th birthday, back in December 2011. Since I live so far away, we had planned for them to come up to Denton, to take the pictures, and just our luck....rain. So we went around Denton, until we found a nice covered, well lit place to take a few shots. We went up to TWU and UNT and I think the pictures turned out pretty good.
I made the pretty little paper cupcake, that we used in the picture. I wanted a prop that would be easy to make and light. I think it was a really cute way to show the reason for the pictures. When I decided to scrapbook the page, I knew I wanted it to have a cupcake theme. I had found the cute, little cupcake by recollections on the discount rack at Michaels. I decided to make another cupcake, which would be a little bigger, that was similar to the one we used in the pictures. I made both cupcakes with my doodlecharms cricut cartrige. The only difference, is this time I was able to do it all very quickly, using the cricut craft room.
Small Cupcake: Recollections 3-D stickers
Large Cupcake: Cricut - Doodlecharms
Title: Cricut - Disney Mickey Font
The pictures below are the best from the photo shoot with Miss Sweet 16, Heather!!!
A while back, I posted a group of pictures I took of my cousin, Alexis at the Fort Worth Water Gardens. It was my first time to shoot there, and it was amazing. There were so many different places and ideas just kept popping into my head. At one point, when Alexis was down in the pit, and I was way up at the top, shooting down at here, a man stopped me and said, “She is beautiful, and those red shoes, wow, should be a great photograph.” I agree, so when it came time to scrapbook these pictures, I knew the title right away, and knew that I wanted to create a page which would highlight her red shoes and her zebra dress.
Paper: zebra paper from the Paper Studio – Safari Untamed Collection
Ribbon: Red rickrack from Hobby Lobby
Brads: black and white zebra – The Paper Studio
Beautiful sticker: Glitz & Glitter word stickers
I always have my camera ready when we have family gatherings. Easter, with the sunny day and happy kids, always proves to be a great picture taking day. This year, I was lucky enough to capture some great shots while the kids were hunting Easter eggs.
Time to scrapbook.........
While I was at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, I found these really great scrapbook kits by Scrapbook Fun Addicts. I don’t usually use kits, as I prefer to create my pages from scratch, but this one was so cute that I couldn’t resist using it. I did change it up a bit to fit all the pictures that I wanted to include, and I absolutely love the way it turned out.

We wanted to take Dallas somewhere that he would really love, for this years family vacation. We decided that San Antonio would be the perfect place for a 4 year old. We visited the Alamo, cruised down the riverwalk, played in the hotel pool, ordered room service, and visited Sea World. At Sea World, we saw Shamu, saw the diver and dolphin show, and the sea lion and otter show. Dallas was excited and completely worn out by the end of the day. It ended up being a perfect family vacation.
When we got home, I couldn't wait to scrapbook these pictures. I wanted to do one layout that would cover all parts of the trip. I made a small pocket out of the side of the page to keep all our ticket stubs and reciepts. Then I wanted to make the page look like a whale was jumping into the pictures, but I didn't have the right cricut to make the cut, so I used the fish cut from the Animal Kingdom cartridge and only used the bottom part. I also cut waves out using the pirate border from Wall Decor and More.
Paper: Colorbok - earth tones pattern paper pack
Cricut: Animal Kingdom and Wall Decor and More
Black Rhinestones: Michaels
I also made a 8 x 8 scrapbook of our trip using Shutterfly.
