I wanted to make a card for Mother's Day that was a bit untraditional, and as I was digging through my stamp collection, I found this cute saying and thought it would be a perfect sentiment for the card. I also found a sketch (see image below) on the Die Cuttin Divas challenge blog and thought it would make an excellent layout. I started by cutting the crown using my Cricut and the Create A Critter cartridge. Next I cut out the modified scallop edge using the Elegant Edges cartridge. Then I added some bling to the crown, because no crown is complete with out some rhinestones. I stamped the sentiment using Versa Mark ink and my purple Perfect Pearls powder. I used to use Perfect Pearls all the time and found this buried in my scrap room drawer. Next I outlined the scallop using a purple glaze pen, which I think added something to the card. All that was left to do was put it all together. I put attached the crown using foam tape. I think the card is really cute and will be perfect for Mother's Day or as a thank you card. "From the boy who thinks that you are the sweetest girl ever. -Ramon A friend of mine lost her grandfather yesterday, and it made me think back to my grandfather who we lost in December 2009. This digital scrapbook page features my grandfather when he was in the military. He signed the front of the photo "To my darling. - Ramon" and on the back wrote "From the boy who thinks that you are the sweetest girl ever" on the back. I really love this picture because it shows the love between my grandparents. I think it is sad that we don't do things like this anymore, it's such a great symbol of their life together.
Challenge Entered: Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge - Old Fashion Photos I made these super cute, zebra thank you cards for my cousin. I really love how they turned out. The combination of the purple zebra and the white is just perfect. I started by cutting the scalloped edge frame piece using my Cricut - Graphically Speaking cartridge, and stamped "Thank You" using a Recollections stamp. Next I put it all together, using the purple zebra as the background, a piece of purple ribbon, and two heart rhinestones to give them a little bling.
